ProtocolIn VivoMoxifloxacin (BAY 12-8039; 12 mg/kg; intravenous injection; once-three times per day; for 7 days; white male Wistar rats) treatment every 8 hours is accompanied by longer survival. Tissue cultures 30 hours after bacterial challenge shows considerably less bacterial overgrowth in the spleens and lungs of moxifloxacin-treated than in salinetreated animals and without being toxic
Animal model144 white male Wistar rats (18-22 weeks; 300-400 g) infected Stenotrophomonas maltophilia
Dosages12 mg/kg
AdministrationIntravenous injection; once per day, twice per day, three times per day; for 7 days

Method for preparing DMSO master liquid: mg drug pre-dissolved in µL DMSO(Master liquid concentration mg/mL) ,Please contact us first if the concentration exceeds the DMSO solubility of the batch of drug.
Method for preparing in vivo formulation: Take µL DMSO master liquid, next add µL PEG300, mix and clarify, next add µL Tween 80,mix and clarify, next add µL ddH2O,mix and clarify.
Note:
  • (1) Please be sure that the solution is clear before the addition of next solvent. Dissolution methods like vortex, ultrasound or warming and heat may be used to aid dissolving.
  • (2) Be sure to add the solvent(s) in order.
