Description: GLPG-0259 (GLPG0259) is a novel, potent and selective small-molecule inhibitor of mitogen-activated protein kinase-activated protein kinase 5 (MAPKAPK5) with the potential for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. MAPKAPK5 is a kinase that plays an important role in inflammatory pathways. It is a key regulator of cytokine production, and is therefore a potential target for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
