Description: Decaldehyde (Decanal) is a bacterial luciferase substrate and an aliphatic reagent used in the preparation of a new class of antibacterials resulting from erythromycin derivatives. Also used in the preparation of 2,4-disubstituted pyrrolidines from aldehydes.
