Description: Colesevelam hydrochloride (GT31-104HB; GT-31-104HB) is a bile acid sequestrant and anti-hyperlipidemic agent. It acts by binding to bile acids in the gut, thus inhibiting bile acid reabsorption, leading to increased bile acid synthesis and reduced cholesterol levels in patients with cholestatic pruritus and Crohn’s disease.
