Description: Butamirate citrate (Sincodin, Acodeen, Abbott-36581; Sincodeen, HH-197, Sincodex, Sincodix), the citrate salt of Butamirate, is an anti-tussive drug. As a cough suppressant, it acts by binding to the cough centerin the medulla oblongata, more specifically the dextromethorphan-binding site in guinea pig brain with high affinity.
