Description: BLU-782 has been discontinued. BLU-782 (also known as ALK2-IN-1) is a novel, potent, selective, and oral bioactive inhibitor of ALK2 (Activin receptor-like kinase) mutant R206H with binding IC50 of<10 nM, it was designed to selectively target the mutant FOP receptor (ACVR1/ALK2) which is the underlying cause of FOP. In FOP mice, BLU-782 prevented the formation of injury-induced heterotopic ossification (HO) and tissue swelling (edema). BLU-782 also prevented the formation of HO following surgery in FOP mice. BLU-782 is under development for the treatment of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.
