Description: β-Elemonic acid is a novel and potent naturally occurring triterpene, isolated from Boswellia carterii. β-Elemonic acid is an inhibitor of prolyl endopeptidase. The anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties of elemonic acid are also evident. Additionally, β-Elemonic acid can result in the production of ROS, cell apoptosis, and COX-2 expression.
