Molecular FormulaC19H23NO8
CAS No.824393-18-2
ProtocolIn VivoAgomelatine (25, 50, or 75 mg/kg; i.p.) has antioxidant activity in Strychnine (75 mg/kg, i.p.) or Pilocarpine (400 mg/kg, i.p.) induced seizure models in mice. Agomelatine dose not have any antioxidant effects on parameters of oxidative stress produced by Pentylenetetrazole (PTZ) or Picrotoxin (PTX) induced seizure models when compared to controls
Animal modelFemale Swiss mice (20-30 g) were administered PTZ (85 mg/kg, i.p.), PTX (7 mg/kg, i.p.), strychnine (75 mg/kg, i.p.), Pilocarpine (400 mg/kg, i.p.), respectively
Dosages25, 50, or 75 mg/kg
AdministrationAdministered intraperitoneally (i.p.)

Method for preparing DMSO master liquid: mg drug pre-dissolved in µL DMSO(Master liquid concentration mg/mL) ,Please contact us first if the concentration exceeds the DMSO solubility of the batch of drug.
Method for preparing in vivo formulation: Take µL DMSO master liquid, next add µL PEG300, mix and clarify, next add µL Tween 80,mix and clarify, next add µL ddH2O,mix and clarify.
Note:
  • (1) Please be sure that the solution is clear before the addition of next solvent. Dissolution methods like vortex, ultrasound or warming and heat may be used to aid dissolving.
  • (2) Be sure to add the solvent(s) in order.
