Description: Tylosin (also known as Fradizine; Tylocine; Tylosin A) is a broad spectrum antibiotic and a bacteriostatic against Gram-positive organisms and a limited range of Gram-negative organisms. Tylosin is found naturally as a fermentation product of Streptomyces fradiae. It is a macrolide antibiotic. Tylosin is used in veterinary medicine to treat bacterial infections in a wide range of species and has a high margin of safety. It has also been used as a growth promotant in some species, and as a treatment for colitis in companion animals.

ProtocolIn VitroTylosin exerts antibacterial effects by binding to 23S rRNA of the bacterial ribosomal 50S subunit .
In VivoTylosin (10-500 mg/kg; s.c.) generally suppresses the elevated TNF-α and IL-1β levels and increases the IL-10 levels in the Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) -treated animals.
Animal modelBalb/C mice (2-3 months old, 20-25 g)
Dosages10 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg, 500 mg/kg
AdministrationSubcutaneous injection

Method for preparing DMSO master liquid: mg drug pre-dissolved in µL DMSO(Master liquid concentration mg/mL) ,Please contact us first if the concentration exceeds the DMSO solubility of the batch of drug.
Method for preparing in vivo formulation: Take µL DMSO master liquid, next add µL PEG300, mix and clarify, next add µL Tween 80,mix and clarify, next add µL ddH2O,mix and clarify.
Note:
  • (1) Please be sure that the solution is clear before the addition of next solvent. Dissolution methods like vortex, ultrasound or warming and heat may be used to aid dissolving.
  • (2) Be sure to add the solvent(s) in order.
