Description: 24-Norursodeoxycholic acid (24-nor-Ursodeoxycholic acid; Norucholic acid; nor-UDCA), an an analog of ursodeoxycholic acid, is a side chain-shortened C23 homolog of UDCA with anti-inflammatory, anti-cholestatic, and anti-fibrotic activities. It is advantageous over Ursodeoxycholic acid in the treatment of sclerosing cholangitis in Mdr2 (Abcb4) knockout mice.
